MyRA and KC – a Symbiotic Relationship

What is MyRA?

MyRA is a reporting tool that allows Principal Investigators, Departmental Administrators, and others with permission to do so, to view the status of Grant and Contract data, Compliance data and Educational data. It is “one-stop shopping” for Research Administration related information!

In 2011, ORA received the “Technology Innovation and Application Award“ from SRA International for MyRA.

How is data populated in MyRA?

Data from a variety of IU enterprise-wide* systems (e.g., KC, Coeus IRB, SharePoint, FIS, etc.), is pulled from the IU data warehouse for MyRA. Additional data from ORA Homegrown systems is pulled and merged with the enterprise data. The combination of this data allows MyRA to show a more global perspective of data to the overall population of users.

*Other examples of IU enterprise-wide systems
  include HRMS, EPIC, and TIME.

What features are in MyRA?

MyRA has various reports found under separate tabs within the system:

MyProposals:  View KC Proposal Development documents as well as find converted approved ERA Routing Forms.

MyAwards: View a listing of awards by account and agency.

MyCompliance: View Human Subjects protocol information.

MyEducation: View completion of registered CITI courses and ORA courses

What are future additions to MyRA?

Future additions to MyRA include better permissions and roles and reports by project period.

Also, Conflict of Interest information is coming to MyRA in the near future!

New Fixes to Check Out!
Fix #1: Text of the Validation Warning Message Has Been Changed
“Validation Warning exists. Do you wish to approve? To view the issue causing the Warning, click on the Proposal Actions tab, Data Validation panel. Turn on the Data Validation and click the fix button. Make corrections as appropriate. A Validation Warning will not prevent the document from routing.”
