What's New and Different in MyRA?

MyRA has recently been upgraded to provide Faculty, Principal Investigators, Department Administrators, and others with permission to view important information about sponsored project proposals, awards, and compliance related activities. The information in MyRA is divided into the following tabs: MyProposals, MyAwards, MyCompliance, and MyEducation. The details below list some of the existing and new functionality you will see in MyRA.

What are Key Highlights...

Impact

...in MyProposals?

You may view KC Proposal Development information and Attachments in MyRA > MyProposals.

  • In order to view MyProposal Attachments in MyRA, you must have the appropriate permissions in both the MyRA and the KC systems.
  • In MyRA, the PI or Fiscal Officer may grant Permissions by adding a delegate via the MyRA Admin tab.
  • In KC, the PI or Fiscal Officer may request permission for you by sending an email to kc-admin-l@indiana.edu, and copying the Department Chair.

...in MyAwards?

You may view KC Award information and Attachments in MyRA > MyAwards.

New 'Finalized Award' Link:

  • Shows awards that have been finalized in KC Award including various details (Award ID, Sponsor Award ID, IU Account Number(s), Project title, Amount awarded, etc.), the Award Agreement and other pertinent attachments.

New 'Awards in Progress' Link:

  • Shows specific details about awards that are being processed, most recent actions taken, and by whom. Also provides a link to Award Details in MyRA.

You may view KC Award documents and Attachments in MyRA > MyAwards.

  • In order to view MyAward Attachments in MyRA, you must have the appropriate permissions in both the MyRA and the KC systems.
  • In MyRA, the PI or Fiscal Officer may grant Permissions by adding a delegate via the MyRA Admin tab.
  • In KC, the PI or Fiscal Officer may request permission for you by sending an email to kc-admin-l@indiana.edu, and copying the Department Chair.

New 'Award in Progress' Link:

  • A Negotiation Record is started when award documents are received in the Office of Research Administration (ORA). The MyRA view indicates the current action(s) taking place as Awards in Progress.

New 'Negotiation ID' Field:

  • The Negotiation ID is the ORA internal record of current action(s) taking place for the Award or Proposal. This is a reference number for ORA Staff to locate the document. Please reference this number when you contact ORA for assistance or questions.
  • Note: The 'ORA Reference Number' field has been removed.

New 'Negotiation Start Date' Field:

  • The Negotiation Start Date represents the date the Negotiation was assigned to a staff member in the Grant Services Office.

New 'Obligation Start Date' and 'Obligation Stop Date' Fields:

  • The project period specified in the award agreement.

New 'Obligated Total' and 'Anticipated Total' Fields:

  • The amount awarded for the specific Obligation period in the award agreement.

MyRA stands for My Research Administration.

 
 
MyRA TIPHow is data populated in MyRA?

MyRA data is populated from a variety of IU enterprise-wide* systems (e.g., KC Grants, KC IRB, KFS, etc.), which is pulled from the IU data warehouse. The combination of this data allows MyRA to show a more global perspective of data to the overall population of users.

(*Other examples of IU enterprise-wide systems include HRMS, EPIC, and TIME)

MyRA TIPWhat is the Consolidated Expense Statement for Awards?

In MyRA, you can look at the consolidated expense statement for awards by clicking on the Account Number link. This will take you to a view of the Expense Summary by Budget Consolidation.
