IU Human Subjects Education Sessions on New and
Revised Forms and Policies

The IU Human Subjects Offices (HSO) are hosting informational sessions to discuss the changes made as a result of the re-accreditation effort from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP). These information sessions are open to anyone in the research community involved or interested in the conduct of human subjects research at IU. HSO staff will offer guidance on the new policies and forms and be available to answer any questions. The new documents will be available on the HSO website January 15th. The effective date for the new policies and forms is March 15th.

The presentations and discussions will take place on both the Indianapolis and Bloomington campuses. Topics will include information about waiver of assent procedures for children, short form consent policy, conflict of interest requirements, research with special populations, and other revised and new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as a result of the re-accreditation. The dates and times for the Bloomington campus sessions will be announced, and are anticipated for the week of January 17th. Dates and times for the Indianapolis sessions are below:
